The Arizona State University police canceled a planned trip to the University of Utah in December and subsequently interviewed Greg Winslow in Tempe, Arizona, amidst internal discussions over whether to arrest him on charges of sexual abuse of a minor, sources close to the investigation have told Concussion Inc.

The trip by an ASU detective was called off because all personnel were needed in Arizona for an unrelated search of a missing ASU student, who eventually was found drowned in Tempe Town Lake.

Coincidentally, the University of Utah swim team was scheduled for a meet at ASU just a week later, on December 16. While the Utes were there, ASU police interviewed Winslow for the first and only time, and also interviewed several current Utah swimmers who knew both Winslow and the victim from their days with the ASU-based USA Swimming youth club, Sun Devil Aquatics.
