APRIL 23, 2012. ECW Press is pleased to announce the release of a revised digital edition of Irvin Muchnick’s 2009 book CHRIS & NANCY: The True Story of the Benoit Murder-Suicide and Pro Wrestling’s Cocktail of Death.

The new electronic edition, which will be published July 1, 2012, includes an author’s Afterword in which he carries the story forward – to World Wrestling Entertainment founder and ex-CEO Linda McMahon’s campaigns for a United States Senate seat from Connecticut and to Muchnick’s own further investigations of the concussion crisis in all sports. Post-mortem analysis of Benoit’s brain tissue showed that he suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy, and awareness of CTE and other catastrophic and long-term damage from contact sports, especially football, now looms as the biggest off-field story in the industry.

CHRIS & NANCY is one of the most important books ECW Press has ever published, and we are pleased to be able to give it new life through this digital edition,” said senior editor Michael Holmes.

In addition to CHRIS & NANCY, Muchnick authored another ECW book, WRESTLING BABYLON: Piledriving Tales of Drugs, Sex, Death, and Scandal (2007), and co-authored a third, BENOIT: Wrestling With the Horror That Destroyed a Family and Crippled a Sport (2007).
