In response to my reports on the various Eileen Wargos at LinkedIn, the management of that business networking site told me, “It is against the terms of LinkedIn’s User Agreement to impersonate another person on the website. We will take the appropriate action based on the results of our investigation.”

My email from LinkedIn did not specify the appropriate action. I later noticed that one of the Eileen Wargo profiles there had been deleted – the one representing her as a former employee of the Pittsburgh office of the K&L Gates law firm and a current employee of the Pittsburgh office of Ariba, Inc. The profile showing Wargo as still being Jerry McDevitt’s legal secretary remained (as did that of another Eileen Wargo, most likely a different person altogether, who works as a topless dancer in Connecticut).

I am asking LinkedIn for further information on the investigation, and also asking for comment from the indisputably real Wargo and her boss McDevitt, and K&L Gates Pittsburgh’s administrative partner, Carolyn Branthoover.

I think “@EWKLG” continues to follow me on Twitter, though some functions of Twitter no longer call up an account by that name under the name Eileen Wargo. I’m not sure what to make of that; Twitter is constantly tweaking its search tools.
