The report on WSB-TV, Channel 2 in Atlanta, with the new audio released from Chris Benoit’s answering machine didn’t even play the two 2005 messages from Eddie Guerrero. I’m guessing that the TV news people don’t follow pro wrestling and didn’t know that Guerrero’s voice on the day before he died was of historical interest and had rich, painful irony. Instead, they went with the tearjerker old message from Chris’s son Daniel, and with boilerplate calls from concerned family and friends.
Again: nothing much there. Exploring the possible scandal of the missing cell phone voicemail is what will advance the public’s understanding of the Benoit case.
