I talk at length about the election and its aftermath in a podcast with David Bixenspan and Keith Harris of Cageside Seats at http://www.cagesideseats.com/2010/11/13/1812688/cageside-radio-11-13-10-w-irv-muchnick-on-the-linda-mcmahon-campaign.

I’m pretty sure Linda Mcmahon’s political future in the state of CT has suffered enough damage that will make it pretty tough for any party to get behind her. Her undoing was a “lethal cocktail” not unlike what several of her “independently contracted” talent succumbed to! The coldness in which she dealt with the families of Lance McNaught (“I only really met him once or twice”) rather than we share in your pain over such a tragic loss of a fine young family man. And we will always be there for you and your children. And in responding to Michael Benoit who has been outspoken on the subject of brain concussions ever since learning through Chris Nowinski and his sports legacy institute that his son’s donated brain showed severe brain degredation as a direct result of unprotected chair shots and diving top rope head butts. Ms McMahons response that Michael Benoit is a “bitter man” rather than a dedicated father in search of answers to such a tragedy! These issues combined with an overly agressive attack campaign she ran did her in early on and turned off mostly women by a 2 to 1 margin. I’d be more concerned with Mcmahon regrouping in Florida where she also resides. Richard Blumenthal has a moral obligation to spearhead the drive to re launch an oversight congressional committee to look into the “Culture” that has claimed far too many young lives.
