Irvin Muchnick – author of WRESTLING BABYLON: Piledriving Tales of Drugs, Sex, Death, and Scandal – will be a guest on Tuesday, May 29, on “The Stranglehold,” a wrestling show on KFNS 590 The Fan in St. Louis. The program airs from 7 to 9 p.m. Central time and also streams live on the web at http://thestranglehold.com or http://kfns.com.
This edition of “The Stranglehold,” hosted by Brian Stull, will originate from the Pro Wrestling Shirt Shop in South County Mall, home of the St. Louis Wrestling Hall of Fame. The late Sam Muchnick – legendary St. Louis wrestling promoter and National Wrestling Alliance president, and the uncle of WRESTLING BABYLON author Irvin Muchnick – was one of the inaugural inductees of the Hall of Fame in a February ceremony that drew a crowd of 500 fans, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Irvin Muchnick will be in St. Louis next month for two book signings. On Thursday, June 21, at 7 p.m., he will appear at the Pro Wrestling Shirt Shop along with special guest Larry Matysik (another St. Louis Wrestling Hall of Fame inductee, author of Wrestling at the Chase, and co-author of the forthcoming Brody: The Triumph and Tragedy of Wrestling’s Rebel). On Friday, June 22, at 7 p.m., Muchnick will be at the Borders in Sunset Hills Plaza.
A complete schedule of Muchnick’s local media appearances will be published prior to his St. Louis tour.
WRESTLING BABYLON (ECW Press) is the country’s hottest-selling new wrestling book. Frank Deford says, “Irv Muchnick knows wrestling like Anna Wintour knows fashion.” The New York Post calls WRESTLING BABYLON “a book that [World Wrestling Entertainment head] Vince McMahon no doubt wishes was never published.”
