Concussion Inc. has learned that Alex Pussieldi was suspended, effective March 21, by Florida Gold Coast Swimming. That is USA Swimming’s local swim committee (LSC) in southeastern Florida.
According to our sources, Pussieldi “retired” from coaching last July because he was about to be suspended. Today’s news means that he has exhausted all regional and national appeals.
We don’t yet know why Pussieldi was suspended, or the length of the suspension or the size of a reported accompanying fine. We were told that Pussieldi’s partner in the now-defunct Davie Nadadores club, Tomas Victoria, was also suspended.
We’re working on obtaining a copy of the suspension order. Allan Williams, the general chair of Florida Gold Coast, has not returned several messages in recent weeks. Neither has Haas Hatic, the board of review chair.
