ConcussionInc.net, which includes investigative coverage of the sexual abuse scandals in USA Swimming as well as the traumatic brain injury crisis in football, welcomes Tim Joyce as a collaborator with Irvin Muchnick on the swimming story.

Joyce was the first journalist to write regularly on the subject in this country. His work includes a groundbreaking series of articles and on-air appearances for WBAL Radio in Baltimore.

WBAL abruptly terminated Tim Joyce’s coverage in October 2012 – almost certainly under pressure from the local and national swimming establishments. The WBAL pieces are now collected at http://timothyjoyce.wordpress.com.

A contributing writer for Forbes’ Real Clear Sports, Joyce previously won two awards from the United States Tennis Writers Association for his work at Tennis Week. He also has written for Yahoo.com, MSNBC.com, the Seattle Times, and other publications, and was a researcher for the Baseball Hall of Fame’s Out of the Shadows, a comprehensive documentation of the history of the Negro Leagues.

Tim can be contacted at joyce.timothy@gmail.com.`
