How Paterno Plays in St. Louis – Where I Come From
July 21, 2012

Yesterday I shared with blog readers the news that Yahoo Sports, after sending me to the Olympic Swimming Trials in Omaha to complete an investigative feature on sex abuse at USA Swimming, wimped out on publishing the resulting article. I promised to post it here today instead.

But that was before I, like all of you, woke up this morning to the news of the horror at that movie theater in Aurora, Colorado. It didn’t take long for me to determine that this was just not the day for me to be publishing. I am rescheduling the piece for early next week.

In an intervening development, a major third-party sports information site stepped up to the plate, unsolicited, and offered to publish the swimming article. I would be honored to see my work on that platform before it is published here. This new player and I will need the weekend, and perhaps Monday, to work out the edits and logistics.

Everyone have a happy, safe, and reflective weekend.
