A spokesperson for Verizon Wireless tells me that the company cannot comment on criminal matters or judicial proceedings.
I again call on the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office to explain more fully the situation with the voicemail on Chris Benoit’s cell phone.
To review, a detective there told me that Verizon said it had a system problem that prevented it from being able to provide voicemail or text messages.
The sheriff’s report, closing the double homicide/suicide investigation, said nothing about an inability to retrieve voice messages, only text messages. And the report proceeded to explain how it worked around Verizon’s issues to get the text messages directly from the phone.
What about the voice messages?
