In the space of one week, the Arizona State University police report recommending charges against swim coach Greg Winslow for sexual abuse of a minor has ricocheted into a full-blown cover-up scandal for his last employer, the University of Utah.
Yesterday Yahoo Sports expanded on Concussion Inc.’s first reports of complaints by Utah swimmers and families to athletic director Chris Hill, dating back to 2008, which went unheeded, and of a whitewash investigation by the campus Office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action.
The university’s latest in a series of backtracking statements now promises to investigate “our previous responses,” as well as the various incidents of Winslow’s out-of-control behavior.
