A few days ago I pointed readers to Timothy Joyce’s excellent article, “USA Swimming Scandal — Worse Than Penn State?”,http://www.wbal.com/article/92453/12/template-story/USA-Swimming-Scandal-Worse-Than-Penn-State.

For those of you who can bear to read it, here’s more on Sarah Burt, the girl who committed suicide after being sexually abused by her swim coach.

In another agonizing twist, DeWayne Bartels, the reporter for the Woodford Times in Illinois who wrote this story, himself died suddenly of a brain aneurysm last week. So consider this post a memorial to both Sarah and DeWayne.
