The National Football League says that commissioner Roger Goodell received a standing ovation at Monday’s session of the annual meeting of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons in Washington. I am covering this development at https://concussioninc.net.
The CNS staff and your outgoing president, Dr. Christopher C. Getch, have not responded to the following inquiry. I therefore am directing it to you.
* Do you have video of the Goodell speech and will you release it?
* Can you tell me of other examples of standing ovations for speakers at your conference — either this one or conferences past?
* Please provide a statement responding to my criticism that this display compromises the ability of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons to provide independent and maximally beneficial public health information on traumatic brain injuries in football.
