The Irish Independent, at https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/former-gaa-coach-facing-up-to-400-child-abuse-charges-to-appear-in-court-today-37747844.html, reports:

 

“A former GAA sports coach who was arrested in the US on almost 400 child abuse charges will appear in court in New York today.

The Irish man is alleged to have abused two children between 2004 and 2009 in the sports grounds where he was a ‘well-known and well-liked’ member of a small sporting community, according to court papers lodged in the US.”

 

The Irish-American website Irish Central, at https://www.irishcentral.com/news/irishman-accused-177-counts-rape-extradited-new-york, updates the story and names the accused:

 

“An Irishman, Raymond ‘Ray’ Donlon, is due to face extradition proceedings at a New York court today on a total of 394 criminal counts, including 201 counts of and 177 counts of rape, involving two youths in Ireland between 2004 and 2009.”
