The piece is especially valuable for its on-air, on-the-record statements about the withholding of water by Jeff Sims, then the head coach at Garden City, now at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri. From here, the only quibble is that the Sims swerve about a blood clot — proven false by the autopsy finding, months later, of exertional heat stroke — was not introduced earlier in the audio and pushed harder; the calculated insertion of a first impression that was inaccurate allowed time to pass and helped make outrage diffuse.<\/p>\n
