My friend Anthony Roberts, a journalist who specializes in the performance-enhancing drugs world — and with whom I collaborated on a 2012 ebook — has published a compendium reminder that Travis Tygart, CEO of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, carries topical baggage: As a lawyer for USA Swimming, he helmed cover-ups of some of the most heinous sexual abuse cases in amateur sports.<\/span><\/p>\n

At <\/span>https:\/\/medium.com\/@anthonyroberts\/the-ceo-of-the-u-s-anti-doping-association-aided-in-coverup-of-sexual-abuse-by-coaches-9ffb9277a5f3<\/span><\/a>, Roberts lays out the chronology, which includes a liberal dose of links to past articles at Concussion Inc.<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier this year we documented and re-documented the case of Danny Chocron, a swim coach at Tygart’s prep alma mater, the Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida. Despite the blatant conflict, Tygart coordinated the administrative prosecution of Chocron for USA Swimming at the group’s law firm, now called Bryan Cave. This happened before USA Swimming even so much as published a list of banned coaches. Chocron jumped his $250,000 bail on 14 felony charges in Florida, and he is coaching to this day back in his native Venezuela.
