Last July we told you about the interest of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and a U.S. attorney’s office in the role of USA Swimming in covering up the sex crimes of a California coach named Norm Havercroft, who bounced from club program to club program, leaving a trail of victims. Today the FBI’s speculated interest became reality. Attorney B. Robert Allard, who represents victim Jancy Thompson in a lawsuit against Havercroft and USA Swimming in California Superior Court, has received a subpoena from the FBI for “Any and all records regarding USA SWIMMING and NORMAN HAVERCROFT.”
The enormous implications of this step do not require further immediate elaboration.
