Joanne Atkins-Ingram, mother of the late Garden City Community College football player Braeden Bradforth, today began her fact-finding mission in Kansas. Atkins-Ingram toured the Kansas campus, identified the spot where Braeden was found, slumped over and unresponsive, and did her first round of local media interviews.
The coverage on this evening’s KWCH12 News in Wichita, under the headline “Mother of GCCC football player who died on first day of practice in Garden City searching for answers,” streams at https://www.kwch.com/video/?vid=505169202. The college told reporter Jennifer Herrera that its internal review was completed Thursday morning and submitted to its lawyer.
Tomorrow: A state senator from the Bradforth family’s home in New Jersey calls for an independent investigation by the Kansas attorney general.
